NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde letter to parents at Todholm Primary School - 17 August 2020

Letter sent by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to parents at Todholm Primary, 17 August 2020

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Dear Parent or Carer

I write to confirm that a pupil within your child's school has tested positive for COVID19.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has undertaken a careful risk assessment to identify any other pupils and staff that this individual had contact with. These individuals are being contacted by the Test and Protect team and will be told to self-isolate at home.

All other pupils and staff can continue to attend the school as normal. There is currently no evidence to suggest that there is transmission occurring within the school itself. Testing is not advised for anyone without symptoms.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the general advice currently in place for everyone: if you or your child develop symptoms of COVID19 the symptomatic person should self-isolate and be tested as soon as possible. You should also stay at home if someone you live with or someone in your extended household has symptoms. As a reminder, symptoms include:

  • a high temperature or fever
  • a new continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change in sense of smell or taste

We would like to remind all pupils and their parents of the vital importance of continuing to observe the rules on social distancing and other measures to prevent infection such as regular handwashing.

Further information on COVID-19 including on what to do if you develop symptoms and how to access a test is available from NHS Inform.

Yours sincerely

Dr Catriona Milosevic
