Linwood Covid-19 testing site - Letter to parents

Dear parent/carer,

I am writing to you as a parent or carer at East Fulton Primary, Linwood High School, Our Lady of Peace Primary, Riverbrae School, St Benedict's High School or Woodlands Primary.

As you may be aware, Linwood will be hosting a temporary COVID-19 testing site from today (Wednesday 21 April) for a week.

The test site is for people who do not have symptoms of COVID-19 and is being targeted at anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Linwood.

If you do have symptoms of COVID-19 please do not come to the Linwood testing site - book a test for one of the NHS-run sites instead

The council has set the site up because analysis showed the area has had higher-than-average rates of the virus in recent months.

We know people can spread the virus without knowing they have it - so we encourage you and your family to get a test.

Doing so will help slow the spread of the virus and protect you and your loved ones, as well as the wider community.

Anyone over the age of five can be tested but children under 16 need parental permission and must be accompanied by an adult.

The test site will be open in Tweedie Hall until Tuesday 27 April. It will be open from 9am-5pm on Wednesday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday, 11am-3.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, and 11am-7pm on Thursday.

You do not have to book in advance, please just drop-in any time during the times above. More information is on our website here.

Anyone who tests positive will be required to self-isolate but you may be eligible for financial support, including a £500 Self-Isolation Support Grant.

Your support is, as always, appreciated.
