Renfrewshire Council

Cultural Recovery and Renewal Fund

Renfrewshire's Cultural Recovery and Renewal Fund has been developed to support the cultural ecology of Renfrewshire in adapting to the impact of Covid-19.

The Fund recognises the different elements needed to retain a healthy and sustainable cultural sector in Renfrewshire. The Fund is a suite of three grant programmes:

  • Artist Development Grants (Applications are no longer being accepted for this fund)
  • Town Centre & Neighbourhood Creative Installations (Applications are no longer being accepted for this fund)
  • Cultural Organisations Support (Applications are no longer being accepted for this fund)

Renfrewshire's Cultural Recovery and Renewal Fund is part of Future Paisley, a radical and wide-ranging cultural regeneration programme, and is administered by Renfrewshire Leisure on behalf of Renfrewshire Council.

Artist Development Grants

Artist Development Grants have been established in recognition of the important role Renfrewshire's freelance artists play in the area's cultural regeneration, at a time when artists' livelihoods are threatened by the impacts of Covid-19. In the short term, grants will support professional artists to continue their practice. In the longer term, artists will continue to contribute to the local economy and make Renfrewshire a vibrant and inspiring place to live and work.

Town Centre & Neighbourhood Creative Installations

The Town Centre & Neighbourhood Creative Installations Grants have been established to support the animation of defined sites, such as empty shop windows or pedestrianised areas, in town centres and neighbourhoods across Renfrewshire. Awards will be made to enable artists to create and install artistic interventions that add value to civic and outdoor spaces, that can be enjoyed during lockdown restrictions

Cultural Organisations Support

The Cultural Organisations Support grant programme is for not-for-profit cultural organisations ineligible to apply for the Renfrewshire Coronavirus Business Support Fund and facing significant threat. The grant programme will prioritise organisations that have to make adaptations to protect income and to ensure their sustainability.
