What are 0300 numbers?
0300 numbers were designed by Ofcom for public sector organisations to use.
Every 0300 number we use is linked to a landline number within the Council.
Calls to 0300 numbers cost no more than calls to landline (for example, 0141 or 01505) numbers and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way. These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone.
Revenue sharing – where the dialled party can receive a share of what the consumer pays to make a call – is also not allowed on calls to 0300 numbers.
The Council does not generate revenue from calls to 0300 numbers.
