Refuse collection takes place throughout the year except for Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Services are as normal on all other public holidays.

Festive Period Collection 2014/15

Normal Services will operate with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If your bin is due to be collected on 25 December or 1 January please put it out for collection on the Tuesday prior to this, ie Tuesday 23
December and Tuesday 30 December. If your collection is on any other day over the festive period it will take place as normal. Please see below:

If your bin hasn't been collected on your collection date, it may be because

  • we've missed your bin
  • your bin wasn't at the collection point by 7am, or
  • your bin had unsuitable items in it.

If we didn't collect your bin because you have incorrect items in it, please remove these items and present on your next collection day for that colour of bin. 

If we have missed you bin in error, please let us know.

Service issues

We aim to provide a high quality service to our residential customers. However, sometimes things can go wrong. 

This table shows any service issues that have arisen with our waste collections.

Normal Services

No textiles or shoes accepted in blue bins.  
Phone 0300 300 0300 for your free uplift of textiles  and shoes.

Remember you can now put glass items in your blue bins.

 

Food Waste Recycling All areas

Normal services

Please remember that this is a WEEKLY service on the same day as your other bins are collected.

The food waste is collected by a specialised vehicle and not by the grey bin, blue bin or brown bin vehicle.

SERVICE STOPPED FOR WINTER

Service operates from your first recycling collection on or after 1st March to your last recycling collection on or before  30th November each year.
