We work with the Equality and Human Rights Commission which has a statutory remit to promote and monitor human rights; and to protect, enforce and promote equality across the nine 'protected' grounds - age, disability, gender reassignment, marital status and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation.
Our useful documents and publications section contains information and advice about various aspects of equality from a variety of different agencies.
The council's licensing section also has a lot of useful information you may wish to read.
We work with partners and engage and consult with members of public in order to promote and encourage equality of opportunity for everyone regardless of race, age, gender, disability, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
It is also important for people coming to live in Renfrewshire to have a basic understanding of local services and information on how to access them.
Together with community planning partners, we have created an information pack for new migrants from Poland, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria.
