Peter MacLeod - Director of Social Work
The director of social work's role is to ensure the development of policy on social work services and the efficient operation of these services.
He also contributes to the development of council wide policies and initiatives and partnership arrangements with other organisations across the public, private and voluntary sector.
Peter is vice-president of the Association of Directors and is the lead officer for the Clyde Valley health and social care collaborative.
The service is organised around three main client groups:
- Child care and criminal justice
- Adult Services
- Resources

Dorothy Hawthorn - Head of Child Care and Criminal Justice
She provides strategic leadership for criminal justice services including community payback orders, probation and groupwork programmes for offenders and also has responsibility for the social work training team.
Dorothy works closely with partners in North Strathclyde Community Justice Authority (NSCJA) to plan and deliver these services.

Shiona Strachan - Head of Adult Services

- people with mental health problems
- people with learning disabilities
Her role is to ensure these services are effective, efficient, high quality and meet the needs of people in Renfrewshire.
Shiona also plays a lead role in improving partnership working with health and housing services to ensure that services are delivered in a streamlined and joined-up fashion.

Anne McMillan - Head of Resources

Working with officers from other departments of the council Anne participates in the development of corporate initiatives. As a member of the directorate within social work, she also has a key role to play in developing the strategic direction of the department.
