You can expect the following standards of service from our occupational therapy service:

We will:

• pass your assessment request to a team member within 28 working days of receipt.
• make sure that your assessment of need is completed within 28 working days of it being passed to a team member.
• aim to deliver your recommended equipment within three weeks of your assessment.
• introduce a new rehabilitation service in 2007. If you are assessed as requiring this service, we will deliver this to you within two weeks of the assessment.
• actively work to increase the number of carer's assessments undertaken by 10% and to look at the support they may need to continue to look after you in your home.
• make sure that you have received all the relevant information about the service you are receiving and have fully understood the information given to you.
• investigate all complaints within agreed timescales and put things right when they go wrong.

The occupational therapy team are the people who come into your home to identify what service you need. You should expect the following standards of service from them.

Our staff will:

• show you their identity cards.
• not smoke in your home.
• be trained and supported to make sure they carry out their jobs professionally and will have procedures and policies for all the services they provide.
• be polite and helpful at all times.
• treat you with respect and keep all information confidential.
