The Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival is a national programme of arts events that aims to raise the awareness of mental health issues and to reduce stigma associated with mental health.
The festival is organised by the Mental Health Foundation and has a number of key national partners including: NHS, See Me, Breathing Space, Choose Life, Scottish Recovery Network, Royal College of Psychiatrists, VOX (Voices of Experience), Scottish Screen, Healthy Working Lives.
The purpose of the festival is to:
- challenge perceptions
- make connections
- develop audiences
- encourage participation, and
- create great arts events.
In Renfrewshire, we have a planning group called 'The Creative Forum' which includes a lot of local partners and last year our Festival had over 30 events.
We are open to any organisation that is interested in partnering with us to provide an arts event that incorporates a link to mental health and wellbeing and allows distribution of mental health awareness information.
