We will:
- treat you politely and with respect;
- reply to your e-mails within two working days;
- communicate with you and provide information in an accessible format;
- if you phone us our duty worker will respond generally same day but within two working days;
- if you write to us we will reply within 5 working days;
- involve you in assessing your needs and we will complete assessment within six weeks of your first contact or referral being made on your behalf;
- offer to check your income level to make sure that you are in receipt of all appropriate benefits;
- along with you, assess the needs of your child,if he or she has a visual impairment, and this assessment will be carried out within 4 weeks;
- offer information about services to carers and will carry out a carer's assessment to ( if this is requested) to all carers;
- ensure that , following assessment of need recommended aids to daily living will be supplied within 20 working days;
- work with you and your family in partnership with other services and agencies involved in your rehabilitation or care / support plan;
- review your service at least once per year - however, you can ask for a review of your service at any time if you feel that your needs have changed;
- ensure that you have received all the relevant information about the services you are receiving and have fully understood the information given to you;
- ask for comments and feedback about our service so that we can make improvements to the service;
- investigate all complaints within agreed time scales and put things right when they go wrong;
- better publicising service;
- providing information about other services;
- working with others to make your journey smoother; and
- developing more joint working with other agencies.
