Renfrewshire Sound is a weekly talking newspaper recorded on ordinary audio cassette tapes. The content includes clips from local press in Renfrewshire (mainly the Paisley Daily Express, Johnstone and Linwood Gazette and the Renfrew and Erskine Gazette). Apart from news, there are also articles of local interest, advertisements and a weekly quiz.
This talking newspaper is free and is produced by a group of volunteers. The group is funded from donation and partly supported by Renfrewshire Council.
For further information, you can refer to the Renfrewshire Sound website. If you want to receive a tape or to become a volunteer, please telephone 0141 848 6116.
For residents in Renfrewshire, subscription forms are also available from the council's Visual Impairment Team.
