A wide range of audio services are available to people who are blind or visually impaired and have difficulty accessing information in print. Many local and national voluntary organisations are involved in the production and lending of taped books, newspapers and magazines, such as:
- Royal National Institute of the Blind Talking Book Service
- Calibre Cassette Library - books on ordinary cassette tapes
- Talking Newspaper Association of the United Kingdom - national newspapers and magazines
- Renfrewshire Sound - local news
- Playback Recording Service - newspapers, magazines and books
- Cue and Review Recording Service - newspapers and magazines
- Torch Trust for the Blind - Christian literature on tapes
- Grapevine Talking Magazine/Newspaper - Scottish and international news and other topics
