Renfrewshire association for mental health is a voluntary organisation, who hold charitable status, and is also recognised as a company limited by guarantee.
It was founded in 1978 by a group of service users, carers and workers who individually and collectively had taken a keen interest in highlighting the needs of people experiencing mental health difficulties. Its founding principle is to increase awareness and understanding of mental ill health throughout the community.
The membership is drawn from local users of service, carers and professionals in the mental health field.
