Community Meals
A new community meals service has been introduced in Renfrewshire and will be fully operational by the end of June 2008. The new service takes the place of the present meals on wheels which is a restricted provision during weekdays and is not currently available at weekends or public holidays.
The community meals will be provided, following an assessment of need, to anyone who is unable to prepare or make arrangements for their own meals and will replace all previous meal provision including frozen meals, meals on wheels and home care meal preparation.
The service will be available to deliver hot meals and snacks 365 days per year and will be charged per meal/snack delivered.
If you, or anyone you know, requires assistance with the provision of meals please contact your local area team in the first instance.
Lunch clubs
Lunch clubs can:
- offer a chance to meet other people
- provide a meal several times a week
- sometimes advise about other problems you may have such as transport
- sometimes arrange outings and events
