Flexicare logo
Flexi-Care provides a service for adults and children with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) living in Renfrewshire.


Aims of the project
We aim to establish a network of trained volunteers and sessional worker who can offer personalised supported to enable people with a learning disability or ASD to participate fully in social, recreational and educational opportunities within their local community. We achieve this by: Back to top

Adult activity groups
Weekly groups based at a local school or community centre providing a range of leisure activities and evenings out.

One to one befriending
Our befriending service links up people for affordable social and leisure activities such as swimming, bowling or going to the cinema.

Going places
Going Places brings together three or four people with similar interests who, with the support of a volunteer or worker, meet up every 2 weeks to enjoy social activities.

Children's groups
We currently run 5 children's groups aimed to those who are diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder.

Volunteers
All of the services that Flexi-Care offer are provided mainly be a network of volunteers and sessional workers who are recruited, trained and supported by the Flexi-Care team. Find out more on the links in the related content on the right hand side of this page. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are urgently required. Experience of working with people with a learning disability is not essential as training and support will be provided.
