Duty system for the deaf or hard of hearing

Home > Services > Social Care and Health > Disabilities > Sensory Impairment

If you want to phone or visit the council's deaf or hard of hearing team, please note that we operate a duty system. We are a fairly small team and do a great deal of our work during home visits. It's not possible for us to have a worker available throughout the working day so we use a duty system. This means that there will be a member of staff available at fixed times each day to deal with requests for help or advice.

The duty system is there to make sure that everyone gets access to our service. It is important that you try to use it. The duty times are:

Mondays to Fridays, 9.30am to 10.30am.

If you are:

then a specific worker will be allocated to you.

If you think you need a service, or have any enquiries about it and have not had a full assessment, you should contact us through the duty system.
