Greensyde centre provides a day service for adults with learning disabilities who live in Renfrewshire. The service is designed around the people receiving the service and aims to help them lead as full and independent a life as possible. A wide variety of activities are offered. These include
- cooking
- gardening
- swimming
- music
- computers
- handling money
- skills for travelling independently
The centre has 12 rooms for group activities and there are specialised rooms for things such as using computers. There is a cafe, an art room and a sensory room. There is also a training kitchen.
You are welcome to visit the centre. If you are then interested in becoming involved you must contact your local social work team to have a community care assessment. If it is felt that the centre could meet some of your needs, a place can be arranged for you.
The centre aims to
- emphasise an approach based on valuing people and meeting their needs and
- promote a community where everyone is fully involved and included
