The Reaching Older Adults in Renfrewshire (ROAR) partnership is launching a range of exciting new services for local elderly people. ROAR is a joint project involving five local voluntary organisations:
The ROAR project provides a range of support services and help to older people:
- individual befriending scheme;
- transport service for appointments, for example, medical check ups; and
- activity based weekly lunch club.
ROAR is designed to:
- help reduce isolation;
- improve health and wellbeing;
- increase self confidence;
- provide social activity;
- maximise independence; and
- improve quality of life.
