The Carts Greenspace team works with local people to create, transform and improve the Central Scotland Green Network in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire.
Carts Greenspace is a partnership project that has successfully completed a wide variety of projects in recent years, including:
- design and construction of community gardens
- school grounds improvements
- creation of wildlife areas and nature reserves
- tree planting projects
- construction of footpaths and cycleways
- clean up campaigns
- project promotion and art projects
- developing growing opportunities.
- coordinating management of Local Nature Reserves.
- enhancing public parks and helping friends groups.
Through its work the Carts Greenspace Team supports the10 goals of the Central Scotland Green Network for 2030:
- attractive, safe and well –maintained greenspace and accessible countryside:
- Investment in green infrastructure
- enhancing landscape setting and bringing vacant and derelict land into beneficial use
- land used for community growing – allotments, orchards and gardens:
- increase in woodland cover
- Integrated Habitat Network
- high quality routes for active travel and recreation:
- improving health and well-being
- community pride and ownership
- climate change and land management
