Scrutiny of flooding in Renfrewshire
Home > Services > Environment > Flooding
The council's scrutiny and petitions board, among other things, scrutinises significant issues involving the council. During the summer of 2008, it carried out an examination of flooding in Renfrewshire. The process began at the meeting of 12 May 2008, when the board approved the scoping report prepared by a lead officer. The purpose of the investigation was:
- to identify the main issues which arise from flooding and those which are predicted to arise in the future
- to consider what the council and partner bodies are doing to tackle these problems, and
- to assess whether these activities can be improved.
The final scrutiny report was approved by the council on 30 October 2008. This report summarises the evidence presented to the board and sets out a number of actions to be carried out by the council, in many cases, in partnership with other bodies. The final report and the evidence presented to the board are available to download below. The council wishes to thank all parties who contributed to the scrutiny process and the preparation of the report.
