Development Planning Guidance

The Development Plan (which is currently made up of the Glasgow and Clyde Valley Structure Plan and the Renfrewshire Local Plan) and the Scottish Planning Policy and Planning Advice Notes form the framework for making decisions on planning applications.
Renfrewshire’s Local Plan sets out policies and proposals for the development and use of land.
The Local Plan deals with a broad range of issues and it is therefore difficult and not practical to include detailed guidance on specific matters or new issues.
The council therefore prepares planning guidance documents, which are not part of the local plan but aim to provide detailed guidance on common issues.
Currently, there is only one guidance document. This document is about houses in multiple occupation and you can download a copy below:
