Renfrew
An upgrade of the public square on High Street has been completed to complement the major public realm works undertaken within the wider town centre. The project involved the use of the same high quality materials in place elsewhere within the town centre, including granite setts and slabs, new lighting and street furniture.
A second project has involved the formation of a new car park within the heart of the town centre, at the site of the former derelict Telephone Exchange in Dunlop Street. The project involved the purchase of the site, demolition of the building and formation of a new 30 space car park.
Johnstone
Houston Square has benefitted from a range of improvements designed to enhance the attractiveness of the area as the civic core of Johnstone. These include new festive lighting, restoration of the War Memorial, restoration of street furniture and a major project to sympathetically repair and restore the Category 'B' listed Johnstone Bandstand.
The bandstand restoration was a complex undertaking with a range of outputs including the restoration of all wrought iron cast features, repainting of all metalwork, new lighting and a new granite floor surface. Works were also undertaken to enhance the area of public realm around the structure.
Bridge of Weir
Public realm works at Livery Walk have provided for an improved, safer pedestrian link between the main village car park and the village centre. The works involved the resurfacing of Livery Walk using durable and high quality materials, augmented by new street furniture and soft landscaping.
Lochwinnoch
In Lochwinnoch, works were undertaken to provide an improved public space at the McKillop Institute. The extended space was created by altering the car park layout and enhancing the physical environment of the area through the provision of high quality paving, new street furniture, street trees and soft landscaping.
Erskine
Public realm works at Erskine have provided for landscape, access and biodiversity improvements within the town centre.
The works involved the strengthening of linkages between the Morrisons foodstore and the Sports Centre, augmented with the creation of two temporary wetland habitats and extensive wildflower meadow planting.
