Paisley Town Centre Property Improvement Grant

Regenerating Paisley town centre is one of the council's top priorities. The objective of the improvement grant is to make sure buildings in the town centre are well used and looked after, especially those in the main shopping streets which are most visible to visitors and residents.
Examples of typical improvements include:
- Conversion, extension, improvement or modification to existing buildings to commercial or residential use.
- Building enhancement works such as cleaning, painting, repair or demolition of structures or buildings.
- Landscaping works and environmental works such as boundary treatment, provision of off-street parking and access improvements.
- Replacement or refurbishment of shop fronts.
The grant is paid when:
- The works are satisfactorily completed, and
- They have been inspected and approved by the council, and
- You have sent the council a copy of the invoice from a VAT registered contractor and evidence that the invoice has been paid.
- 50% of costs up to a maximum grant of £15,000
- The grant is available to owners and commercial property leaseholders.
- Premises must be located within the qualifying area, which can be viewed on the location map below.
- Proposals should contribute to the enhancement of the town centre, using appropriate building materials, design and techniques.
- Financial assistance will be subject to all necessary consents, such as planning permission and listed building consent, being in place.
