Formed under the provisions of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, the Renfrewshire Local Outdoor Access Forum is a group of people who meet quarterly to discuss ways of improving and managing public access in Renfrewshire. It covers the whole of the Renfrewshire Council area.

The purpose of the forum is set out in the legislation, it is to:

There are four main groups on the forum that represent users (such as cyclists, walkers, horse riders, canoeists and disability users), land owners and managers, community groups and local or national organisations.

The forum consists of two layers. The core group attend the quarterly meetings and actively work in sub groups when required to investigate and progress specific issues. The wider forum consists of interested parties who receive the minutes of the meetings to pass on to the organisations and groups which they represent.

Minutes of the forum meetings are available on request. If you are interested in representing an interest group on the forum or would like to make a suggestion or raise an issue with the forum please contact Access Officer, Planning and Transport Services, by letter or by email to pt@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
