Renfrewshire provides a range of excellent cycling routes, on road and on traffic-free paths.

Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity, working on practical projects so that people can choose to trave in ways that benefit their health and the environment. Sustrans has created the National Cycle Network which extends across the length and breadth of the UK.


Two of Sustrans' routes run through Renfrewshire. These are:
These routes provide excellent, largely car-free cycling routes for travellers passing through Renfrewshire. The routes also provide an excellent spine from which you can explore the many excellent on-road cycling routes throughout Renfrewshire.

Out There on Bikes book
'Out There on Bikes' - provides details of 10 cycle routes around Renfrewshire, unfortunately this booklet is now out of print, however it is available to download below. The routes have been specifically designed for the 'non expert' cyclist, and many are suitable for families with children.
