We now all have a statutory right of access to most land and inland water in Scotland.

Under the legislation the council has prepared a Core Paths Plan, set up a local access forum and continues to promote the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

Working to improve access opportunities for walking, cycling, horse riding and water activities can encourage people to become more active. Better routes allow us to get about more easily whether we are wanting to get to work, or the shops on an every day basis or a to enjoy our leisure time.
