The Steeple Hall, with its iconic statue of the village's legendary piper Habbie Simpson, stands in the middle of the village. Once a meal market and school, it is now a community space.

The old library in Barholm is run by a community trust. The Trust often has musical events in the library, which has a charming garden to the rear.
The year's big event in Kilbarchan is Lilias Day, usually on the first Saturday in June. A pageant telling the story of the village's history kicks off the day's happenings, and everyone parades to the local park for a splendid programme including sporting events and live music.
Notable local organisations include the Kilbarchan Singers who specialise in madrigals and other a cappella music, the Kilbarchan Pipe Band and the renowned Kilbarchan Amateur Athletic Club which regularly produces top flight track and cross country athletes.
