The Howwood Inn
Howwood lies just off the A737 road from Paisley to Irvine. It is an attractive residential village, with a primary school, village hall, Church of Scotland and Roman Catholic parish churches, local shops and pubs.

On the outskirts of the village are Bowfield Hotel and Country Club , Mid Gavin Equestrian Centre, Greenacres Curling Club and Midton Bowling Club.

The Community Council manages the village web site.

The local wildlife and woodlands group has developed a number of walks around the village which link into the Semple Trail network and to National Cycle Route 7.
