A residential street in Brookfield
Brookfield, 2 kilometres from Johnstone on the road to Bridge of Weir, is thought to be Renfrewshire's smallest community, with just over 200 buildings. It is a residential area, with late Victorian and later villas.

Close to Brookfield runs National Cycle Route 75, which links Greenock with Edinburgh - mostly traffic free. The section between Paisley and Kilmacolm follows the route of an old railway line.

The village has a bowling club and community hall.
