The village lies on the A8 between Renfrew and Langbank. A pleasant residential area, it has all the usual services, including places to eat. Local highlights include the spectacular equestrian complex at Ingliston which has restaurants and bars open to the general public, as well as superb facilities for riders of all standards.
Nearby Formakin Estate provides walks in beautiful parkland and glimpses of the fine Scots Baronial architecture of Sir Robert Lorimer's manor house and estate buildings. The buildings on the estate are private residences, so please respect their privacy.
Bishopton has a train station that is serviced by the Glasgow to Inverclyde route. Several buses also run to Bishopton from Paisley, Renfrew and Erskine, but please note there is no public transport between Bishopton centre and Formakin.
By car, Bishopton can be accessed from Houston on the B789 or from the M8/A8.
