What is it?
Renfrewshire Council's 'Citizen's Account' is a new proposal offering citizens and businesses a facility to access up-to-date account information online in a secure, convenient and accessible manner. The council are running a pilot project for the new account and would like the public to get involved. We're looking for a number of local residents interested in joining the pilot group to test the potential of the account over a three month period starting in September 2008.
What will it do for me?
Taking part in the pilot project allows you secure access to online services not normally available on the council website. As a Citizen's Account holder, your personal details will have been checked and confirmed so that you will not have to repeat this information every time you want to use a service. If any of your personal details change, such as your address, you can record this through your Citizen's Account and share the information with participating public sector organisations. This will save you the hassle of notifying all the agencies individually.
Services
We will be adding services such as:
- register for a Citizen's Account
- update and maintain your personal account details online
- view your council tax balance and previous payments made
- view your rent account
- View details of your recent contacts with the customer services section
- register for the Senior Citizen's Voucher Scheme
- apply for a library ticket
- apply to receive text alerts
How do I sign up?
Sign up for the citizen's account pilot project by completing the online form below:
We need a good cross section of the community to get involved in the pilot so not everyone who wants to sign may be given the chance. However, the earlier you sign up, the more likely you are to be successful.
