Charges set by Scottish Water
Your Council Tax bill also includes separate charges set by Scottish Water for water and sewerage services. The law says we must include them in your bill and collect them from you, but we have no say over how much they should be.
Water and Sewerage Charges Reduction Scheme
On 1 April 2006 Scottish Water introduced a new water and sewerage reduction scheme. This scheme gives a discount of up to 25% on the water and sewerage charge for households where two or more adults are receiving Council Tax Benefit, and are not receiving discount on their Council Tax.
