Guidelines
We aim to pick up general household items within five working days and white goods within ten working days after receiving your payment, however this timescale is only a guide. The following guidelines apply:
- any bags of material, whether rubble or garden waste, must be capable of being carried by one person
- items must be accessible and presented in a safe and tidy manner
- carpets and similar items should be cut and where possible covered with plastic to avoid them becoming saturated with water
- trees and branches should be cut to a length of no more than four feet, bundled and tied
- fridges and freezers should have their doors removed or turned in a position that would prevent a child getting access. Please note these items are recyclable and are uplifted separately
- hazardous, clinical or toxic waste will not be picked up. Please call us to find out how to dispose of these particular items.
To arrange a special uplift, phone 0141 842 4448 (Please note when calling to arrange a special uplift you must list all items that you want uplifted. We will not uplift items which have not been listed.) If you are a council house tenant, please have your rent reference number available. If you are a housing association tenant, please contact your association directly.
Please also consider reducing, re-using and recycling unwanted items. Many can be taken to the household waste and recycling centres located throughout Renfrewshire.
Or why not contact our partner Project OsKar, a new re-use and recycling centre. Project OsKar aims to help reduce landfill, create jobs and training and also prvides an exciting retail outlet for refurbished second hand goods. It can be found at 24 Clark Street, Paisley PA3 1RB.
