The General Product Safety Regulations (2005) require that goods supplied to consumers in the course of a business are not dangerous.

As a landlord, the supply of goods in your rented accommodation is considered to be a hire and, as such, all the goods are covered by the above regulations.


Certain high risk consumer goods, including electrical equipment and attached plugs, upholstered furniture and gas cooking appliances are covered by product-specific safety regulations.
