The council is responsible for keeping roads, pavements, parks and other open space areas litter-free.
As part of the Clean Renfrewshire campaign, our 'Litter Hit Squad' clear up litter throughout Renfrewshire.

We also make landowners keep their land tidy and clear of litter by creating 'litter control areas'. There are four litter control areas in Renfrewshire:
- Ferguslie/Phoenix Retail Park, Paisley
- Castlehead, Paisley
- Linwood Shopping Centre, Linwood
- Deanside, Hillington
