Renfrewshire Warden Service

The Renfrewshire Wardens service carry out a range of environmental enforcement and community safety duties. Formed from the amalgamation and redesign of the neighbourhood warden service and the town centre wardens, the service aims to make a significant improvement to the environment to deliver a cleaner and safer Renfrewshire.

The Renfrewshire Wardens Service operate from 7am to 10pm, 7 days a week, across the whole of Renfrewshire.

The Wardens have a crucial role in Clean Renfrewshire through investigation of environmental crimes, enforcement of legislation and community clean-ups. They also promote community safety by dealing with minor complaints for antisocial behaviour such as vandalism, graffiti, noise disturbance and youth disorder.

Targets and performance

In 2009-2010, we issued over 800 fixed penalty notices for litter, dog fouling and smoking offences.
In 2010-2011, our target is to respond to 98% of requests for help with antisocial behaviour within 45 mins of receiving the request.
