Introduction
In Renfrewshire, workplace inspections are carried out to make sure that they are safe for employees to work in and for members of the public to visit. Council officers inspect offices, shops and warehouses. In some manufacturing and other processes or activities, inspections are carried out by the Health and Safety Executive.
Offices, shops and warehouses
Complaints about health and safety in offices, shops and warehouses etc, should be reported to Environmental Services (see contact details below).
Work related accidents or dangerous occurrences should be reported to the National Incident Contact Centre on 0845 3009923 which records all RIDDOR (The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995) reportable accidents on behalf of local authorities and the Health and Safety Executive. They can also be reported on the RIDDOR section of the Health and Safety Executive website.
Please note that the council will not pursue financial compensation claims for accidents.
