Catering in residential establishments

Environmental Services provide catering services in residential homes operated by Social Work Services for children and young people, older people and in very sheltered housing for elderly people and those with disabilities.

Food enforcement

Food Enforcement Officers enforce Food Safety Legislation in approximately 1,400 food premises within Renfrewshire. They also deal with food complaints and carry out routine sampling of foodstuffs.

For more information, go to the Food Hygiene and Quality section of the website.

Food waste

We don't realise how much food we waste. Over a third of food we buy is thrown away. Over £800m worth of food is wasted by consumers in Scotland, with around 650,000 tonnes of food waste thrown out by Scottish households every year.
