Renfrewshire Council is responsible for health and safety enforcement in certain types of premises in terms of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
These premises include:
- offices
- shops
- warehouses
- leisure facilities
- hotels
- catering premises.
A new section 18 standard was published on 1 April 2008 and both enforcing authorities had until March 2011 to meet the requirements.
The review has been completed, and a single Regulatory Services Integrated Enforcement Policy has been developed. This Enforcement Policy is designed to ensure that enforcement decisions across all of Regulatory Services are applied in a consistent and transparent manner.
