St. John Ogilvie are celebrating this week after being granted £10,000 by 'Awards For All'. The money will help provide:
- playground markings
- benches
- bins
- an adventure trail for P1-P7 pupils
Primary 7 teacher and Pupil Council Teacher Representative Judith Kirk explains “The Pupil Council in St John Ogilvie were working towards the Eco Schools Green Flag and asked pupils for ideas to improve the school grounds. After carrying out an audit and consulting all classes the pupil council applied for a grant from Awards For All Lottery funding and we received £10,000!
Part of the grant will go towards an adventure trail. The pupil council worked in conjunction with Scotplay to design a trail that will develop the confidence and abilities of all pupils. The trail will enhance the playground and improve play opportunities for all the children. The pupils will have great fun using the equipment and will also have the opportunity to exercise in a fun environment.”
Work will shortly begin installing the trail and will hopefully be completed by the new year.
