The second Active Schools Football Festival was held at Ferguslie Sports Centre on Wednesday 31 October 2007. The festival is delivered by the Active Schools Paisley team and sees 16 schools competing in a 7 a-side competition. Boys and girls were invited to take part in the group format where the winners of each section play off against each other for the right to reach the final.

This year's competition finalists were St Charles’ and Langcraigs, who beat Mossvale/St. James’s and St. Fergus’ respectively in the semi-finals.
For the second year in succession, St. Charles’ were beaten on penalties as Langcraigs eventually walked away as worthy winners. Well done to everybody involved!

Langcraigs Head Teacher Colleen Wood was delighted with the schools achievements “I am absolutely over the moon with the result, we don’t have a football team as such at Langcraigs but the pupils do play the game at playtime. In preparation for the festival I organised a friendly with Mossvale. We spoke to our team about accepting defeat graciously and being prepared to congratulate the winners at the end of the match. We didn’t expect to win but were delighted when we did!!!!! Winning the friendly was a big confidence booster for our players and I am sure that contributed to their success in the festival. I was also delighted to hear that our pupils conducted themselves well at all times even when we were into penalties near the end of the game. The pupils did a tour of the school on return to show off the fabulous trophy which now has pride of place in our display cabinet”.

The next Active Schools Football Festival will again take place at Ferguslie Sports Centre on Wednesday 18 June 2008.
