We asked Renfrewshire readers to vote for their favourite Scottish book.
The votes revealed that Sunset Song by Lewis Grassic Gibbon is the all time favourite. This classic Scottish novel, the first of the trilogy 'A Scots Quair', tells the story of Chris Guthrie, a young woman growing up in a farming community in the northeast of Scotland at the start of the 20th century.
The novel deals with issues such as the effects of the First World War, traditional wonderful love story and the character of Chris Guthrie is one of the best loved in Scottish writing.
