Sports Leaders UK Level 2 Award

The Sports Leaders UK Level 2 Award is designed to offer young people in the community an opportunity to develop key core skills which can be carried through life. The Award uses sport as the vehicle to develop these skills and offer participants the confidence to use these skills within the community.
The British Sports Trust describes the Award as a way to "produce responsible, motivated and confident people who can lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sporting and recreational activities. The Award is also designed to encourage people to get involved in organising and assisting with the provision of sport on a voluntary basis"
Course Content
The course is available for young people in the community aged 16 to 24. The course is broken into 8 units, 7 of which are theoretical based with unit 8 being the practical component. The 7 units are as follows:
- Organisational skills
- Safety in sport
- Know your friends
- Fitness sessions for sport
- Organisation of events and games
- Games and activity experience
