There are a number of organisations offering programmes and support to young people living in Erskine. Below are details of the programmes available from:
Renfrewshire Council Youth Services

Young People, consent and IT Access

Consent
All young people must have a completed consent form to attend any of the clubs detailed below. Please bring a parent or carer the first time you come to allow you to sign up for membership and use the IT facilities.

If you are aged 16 or over, you can sign your own forms but separate forms are needed for attending trips.

IT Access
Erskine Youth Hut is equipped with two state of the art PCs, a colour laser printer and scanner. Supervised access to the internet is available. You need to complete an IT user's agreement which your parents must sign too before using any IT equipment in our clubs.

7.00 pm to 8.30 pm for young people in the community

You can get involved in a variety of projects, including fundraising, and be a voice for young people in your own community. The Youth Council ran a third successful Erskine Music Festival in 2007. The group are currently fundraising with the idea of working towards a Youth Exchange. If you have project ideas and/or opinions on how things could change and what could be better for young people and the future of Erskine, please contact us or Ann, our Youth Work Supervisor at the phone number or email address below.

Bargarran Learning Centre
4.00 pm to 6.00 pm for young people in S1 and S3
Cost £1

This group is for you if you:
  • have an interest in IT
  • want to learn to use software such as Paintshop Pro and Dreamweaver
  • want to learn more about safe internet use
  • want to join a web development project

The group are working on nationally recognised Youth Achievement and Dynamic Youth Awards which are accredited by Youth Scotland. the group welcomes newcomers, please get in touch with Susan or Nikki at the phone number or email address below.

Surf Punx logo

Surf Punx has developed from Erskine Hack Pack who undertook projects that included film making, radio broadcasts and writing for the Young Scot web page.

street sports, team games, drama, crafts, trips and special events

6.30 pm to 8.30 pm for young people aged 10 to 13
indoor 5 aside football

7.00 pm to 9.00 pm for young people aged 14 to 18
7 aside football on astrograss - bring your own team
Sign up your team each week in the Community Wing first

This is community football so come along and have fun! For those aged 16 and over, you can develop your coaching skills with our SFA Training opportunities. There is also the chance to meet other Renfrewshire Young Scot Clubs for friendly 11 aside games.

Bridge to Youth

Bridge to Youth run a programme of activities for young people including a 2 week summer programme and a summer evening drop-in session. They also run:

The Point
Bargarran Community Centre from 7.00 pm

A range of activities are available and workers are there to talk to and offer advice if you have a problem.

Church of the Nazarene

Why not visit the Erskine Church of the Nazarene website?

Mondays and Fridays
Lunch Clubs
1.00 pm to 1.45 pm

A place to come and hang out and get some lunch during your lunch break from school. Play pool, table tennis, football, basketball or just chill out in our cafe-style room setting.

Friday
Youth Club
6.30 pm to 8.30 pm for all High School age young people
Admission is £1

Activities include sports, competitions, games such as table tennis, pool, table football, computer games and an opportunity to sign up for afternoon and evening trips and outings. Why not join us to chill out and relax and meet up with friends. An amazing opportunity to connect with God in a relevant and contemporary way.

Youth Group
6.30 pm to 8.00 pm

A chance to hang out with other young people. Opportunities to explore what Christianity is all about and if it really can be relevant to young people in the 21st Century.

7.00 pm to 9.30 pm for young people aged 13 to 18.

Every week is different so why not join us and see what's on? Sometimes it can be a puppet theatre night, sometimes it's band practice and sometimes it's just a heated discussion, but always a chance to meet young people of your own age.
