Fancy trying out something new?
DJ-ing, Guitar, Drums, Samba and Street Art workshops are taking place in Paisley on Friday evenings between 7pm and 9pm. These workshops are for young people aged 13 to 17 living in Renfrewshire to try to provide an alternative to the street corner culture, where young people could become involved in anti-social behaviour and underage drinking.
The venue is the ‘School of Rock’ in School Wynd, Paisley above the Liberal Club. The studios have excellent facilities including sound booths. The project includes free transport to the venue. So far, this project has targeted young people from Linwood, Renfrew and Erskine with plans to involve young people from the Thrushcraigs area in Paisley in the near future.
Hit the Beat Project operates with support from Strathclyde Police in partnership with Renfrewshire Council's community learning and development service and is funded through the Scottish Government's Local Action Fund.
