Renfrewshire Council Education and Leisure Services have a strong track record in parental involvement at all levels, from involving parents in their individual children's learning to supporting schools at representative level.
Children do better if their parents are involved in their learning and education. Research proves it.
The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 recognises parents have a vital role to play in their children's education and aims to help parents be:
- involved in their own child's education and learning
- welcomed as active participants in the life of the school, and
- encouraged to express their views on school education generally.
