The policy stresses the importance of involving the whole school community - pupils, parents and all the staff in the school. So if you or your child have a concern about bullying you should speak to someone at school. It can be the headteacher, the class teacher, a classroom assistant, or in some schools, a buddy or playground friend that is an older pupil. The important thing is to speak to someone who can help change things. That is most likely to be someone at school.

April 2008 update: Respectme (Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service) have been reviewing local authorities anti-bullying policies. They have published the comments below in relation to the Renfrewshire Council policy:

'Overall this is an excellent example of a thorough policy and strategy to combat bullying in Renfrewshire Schools and the guidance is head and shoulders above other local authority guidance that has been reviewed to date'.
