Renfrewshire's second busiest library has been officially relaunched following a major makeover.
Library staff and visitors to Johnstone Library are enjoying a bright new look following the revamp.
Renfrewshire Council has invested £66,000 in a modernisation programme aimed at creating a more customer-friendly environment.
Councillor Eileen McCartin, convener of Renfrewshire Council's Community and Family Care policy board, officially opened the new look library on Thursday 17 April. Councillor McCartin said: "Over 160,000 customers visit Johnstone Library every year. The council has invested to provide those customers with new, improved facilities and the people I spoke to were clearly enjoying the spacious layout and the extra features."
The makeover has included redecoration, new carpeting and new lighting, offering a bright, welcoming environment for customers. The new look library also has a new reception area, contemporary shelving and soft furnishings, where people can relax with their choice of books. You can also view the stunning wall panel in the library, showing a selection of images of historical Johnstone from the Council’s own photographic archive.
It also boasts the first collection of digital talking books in any Renfrewshire library.
