We regret that Renfrew Community Museum is currently closed following subsidence in the local area. This is currently being investigated and we hope to be open to the public in the near future. We apologise to visitors for any inconvenience caused.

Renfrew museum
Renfrew Museum is housed in the former Brown Institute building dating from 1903. The building originally housed a library, reading room and a panelled billiard room. Over the years the building has been home to the burgh band and a careers office until Renfrew community museum was opened in the building in 1997 to commemorate the 600th anniversary of Renfrew as a royal burgh.

The museum houses displays on the history of Renfrew and important local people.
