historic dresses at Paisley museum
The history collections of archaeological, social and industrial history artefacts tell the story of Renfrewshire's people from the earliest inhabitants right up to the present day.

Food, textiles, engineering and shipbuilding industries of the 19th and 20th centuries are represented by a variety of objects. The everyday objects used by the people who worked in these industries make up much of the social history collection

The archaeology collection has artefacts from Ancient Egypt and one of the museum's most important objects, a carving of the ancient Babylonian god Nisroch which is over 3000 years old.
